Arriving by car

The Benediktushaus is located in the centre of Vienna, where most sights are within walking distance and there is an excellent public transport network – so you won’t need a car to get around. You may therefore like to leave your car at a park & ride. facility on the edge of town, and travel into the centre quickly and conveniently by U-Bahn (metro). If you do decide to drive into the centre, however, please be aware of the following: Follow the signs towards “Zentrum” (centre).

Access via the FREYUNG:
Where the Universitätsring meets the Schottenring (= intersection with Währinger Straße and Schottengasse), turn into Schottengasse and then continue to bear slightly left into the Freyung (which is a square). The entrance to the Benediktushaus is situated on the left beneath the bell tower of the Schottenkirche, right next to the prominent “Apotheke” building at Freyung 7.

Access via RENNGASSE:
Coming from the Universitätsring or Währinger Straße, follow the Schottenring and take the next right into Hohenstaufengasse. Continue straight on until you reach Renngasse, where you turn right again. It is best to start looking for a parking space as soon as you reach Hohenstaufengasse (parking ticket required!). There are very few places to park in Renngasse.
There is nowhere to park outside the Benediktushaus!

Chargeable SHORT-STAY PARKING ZONES throughout Vienna

Please note – The guesthouse is situated in a short-stay chargeable parking zone.  From Monday to Friday 9 am to 10 pm, only short-stay parking is possible and requires a corresponding parking ticket.  Parking restrictions are lifted from Friday 10 pm to Monday 9 am and all day on public holidays  – during these times, you can park in the area free of charge.
However, please be aware of any additional parking bans (including those implemented at short notice) and resident parking zones (in which only permit holders may park).
